1. Estimates, not advice
The results produced by this website, including any net, VAT or gross amounts and any downloaded calculation receipts, are provided for general information and estimation only. They do not constitute tax, accounting, legal or financial advice, and they do not create any adviser–client relationship. If you need advice for your specific circumstances — for example about VAT registration, which rate applies to a particular supply, the Flat Rate Scheme, or the reverse charge — consult HMRC or a qualified accountant or tax adviser.
2. Accuracy and rounding
We work hard to keep this site accurate. VAT rates and thresholds are checked against GOV.UK guidance (see our methodology), and this page was last reviewed on 24 July 2026. Calculations use standard commercial rounding to the nearest penny. HMRC also permits rounding the total VAT on an invoice down to the nearest 0.1 of a penny (VAT Notice 700, section 17.5), so your own invoicing software may differ by a fraction of a penny. Tax rules change: where GOV.UK and this site disagree, GOV.UK prevails.

CalculateVAT.co.uk is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to HM Revenue & Customs or any government body. References to HMRC guidance are provided for your convenience via links to GOV.UK.
4. Your responsibility
